I am constantly reminded of how fragile and short life is. I talk to my father and it tugs at every inch of my heart. I watch my children and remind them to do things now in case the chance never arises again. I think of all the regrets I've held on to, which forces me to look at new chances a little differently. Sometimes it's hard to live in the day, with time moving so fast and obligations that need to be met. Bedtime creeps up on me some nights and I wonder where the day has gone and what I have done worthy enough if it were to be my last.
Have you ever documented your day? Written down conversations and thoughts, taken pictures of pretty things or just ordinary things? Remembered what you laughed about?
Have you really noticed the plain simple things that fill the minutes of your day?
I was clicking around the other night and came across this blog and was intrigued by her series called "A Picture An Hour." I thought this was the perfect way to capture a day, as sometimes a photo does say a thousand words...
"Snapshots of Today" begins, and
This was my today . . . . .
Sarah, I journal and try to capture the essence of the day. Or at least I try to make note of my being within a day. Time moves more swiftly than my school children skirting around the classroom. Often there just isn't the time to do all the things we should do or want to do. I try very hard to not allow the shroud of "if only" take over and cloud my day.
ReplyDeleteI love finding new blogs. I will head over an check it out. Have a wonderful week-end. Bonnie
What wonderful thoughts about capturing this moment. And - you describe a beautiful cozy..warm winter's day!!
ReplyDeleteI found you through your comment on Living Life. Your blog is everything I enjoy, clear, simple and thoughtful. I think it would be a good thing for me to document my day. I am between homes, between locations, unsettled and dislocated. Evidence of my day sounds reassuring.
ReplyDeleteI love the picture an hour concept! I do a weekly collection even sunday evening with photo;s from our week (obviously). You're welcome to join in if you'd like (it's a dorky linky).
